Great video 💯🔥 Thank you!
By far the most comprehensive video I've found on the ME-90 - for example, you're the only demonstrator I've seen to showcase the four-cable method! I also appreciate your demo tunes...you've got great writing chops; it's nice to hear gear demoed over diverse, intelligent and "realistic" tunes. Bravo!
Thank so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed this. I’m trying to find a good balance of value and entertainment. Cheers!
Suhr Modern Satin Flame from 2020, was my only guitar for almost 4 years, and still my main. I will have it forever.
Beautiful! Can’t beat a Suhr!
Love the high gain too, i also use a eq to crank op the mids, developed a beauty rond from that. And this clean sound is magnificent unique.
I’m with you. LOVE this amp!
There is an error with cubase where the vm 1 will get stuck on one fader. If you select a track in the project window of Cubase and hit play then stop, the track that the mv 1 is stuck on will force the Cubase project window to follow it.. This problem has been verified by the icon company. They are aware of it but have not found a solution This problem will completely stop you from working. You will be forced to reset and turn off Cubase and restart
Expect 5 days before customer support do get back to you
Notice the master meter doesn't work
It was your videos featuring the Schecter, Mark Holcomb PRS and the Ibby. I bought the FR S C1 SLS Evil Twin. I've had it almost a year. It's by far my favorite guitar. B standard chugging on it is just the chef's 💋.
We have stage one 2 now.
Indeed. It was my first guitar I had bought in 35 years and I was blown away by the modern machining. I mean, the last guitar I owned was an Antigua strat lol
Xjz
I have around 30 guitars at this time but I do my best to give them all some play time. Some of them are similar but that gives me a good opportunity to try different pickups and sometimes tunings. It's also to show various music styles and tones through the gear that I'm reviewing on the channel. Is it necessary? No, but I love it! Haha You have a cool collection man, all the guitars are very different!
You need at least that many to service that monster amp collection!!! :-) If there's anyone I know that uses his collection, it's you :)
My number one guitar is an Ibanez S640 that my wife surprised me with for Christmas a few years back. It just fits me like no other guitar I own. I upgraded the pickups to Dimarzio’s. I own a few other guitars along with 3 basses.
Sweet. I like the story. A number one always needs a good story. Cheers!
Diezel is doing this with their new VHX amp that concerns me.
Yeah. I would NOT invest in that amp....
@@LonelyRocker same here and it costs 1k over a regular Diezel tube amp. You can buy pedals or a modeler plus the VH4 amp for less.
I am done buying tube amps due to maintenance and high costs and large space required. My next amp will be a Fractal Axe FX III.
Shame. Always room for at least one tube amp. I have amps a fractal and a helix and they all play really nice together :)
@@LonelyRocker true well I probably will sell one of my large cabs and amp not using to fund the modeler and another guitar. I will keep my Mesa and Mezzabarba tube amps.
26. No more, no less.
Sounds like a good number. Until it becomes 27 :)
This is such an underrated channel. ❤
Thank you my friend. I’m working really hard here. Sometimes I feel like RUclips hates me. 😂
Demoing a substantially modified amp that remedies one of its mostly criticized design decisions is a flawed defense of "what this amp is."
Fair argument...but this is what I have. So I did a video about what "this" amp is....
I have it with Floyd Rose. No tuning issues. Love this guitar.
Great! I still think it's a good guitar...glad yours is good!
Great walkthrough! Love the shout out to your Dad, rest his soul. Guitars are tools for me, so I'm looking for instruments that play a specific sonic role with as little overlap as possible. The brand is never as important as whether it fits the archetype I need. Standard Single Coils (telecaster), rootsy Lo-Gain Single Coils (Mustang), Humbuckers (PRS), Bigsby (WildKat), P-90's (Wildkat), Roundhole acoustic (Taylor), F-hole electric (epiphone emperor regent), F-hole Acoustic (Epiphone Masterbilt Deluxe), Nylon string (Gianinni), etc. I've got them all covered at this point, so not jonesing for anything new. Same goes for basses. A Jazz is the only thing that sounds like a Jazz to me. Fretless Precision. Hofner style kit bass that does that chore, which I play to death. Double bass. Modern active 5 (Ibanez SR505) Humbuckers (epiphone '58 korina explorer reissue with Thunderbird Pro pickups) Whether they were expensive or cheap, I bought them each to fill a sonic role rather than a cosmetic role, and only kept them if they did those well. Some would be shocked at every Gibson I sold because something else did the intended job better. I don't play them all constantly but I rotate them constantly. I never understood Yngvie with the 100 identical strats. But you can't make a dual humber do what a telecaster does. And vice versa. If you're a guy who plays all those roles either live or in the studio, That's why you need multiple guitars
I like your philosophy. But wether there are 100 different ones or 100 identical ones we all seem cooky. From the outside it just seems like some kind of repetitive behaviour. But us players understand nuance is everything. And that nuance is what keeps us hunting and searching :)
You can always redo the neck on your guitars. Tape the guitar off at the top of the neck and bottom and start sanding the neck down with sandpaper in your hands until you get to the shape you want the guitar. Your hand will do it to where it feels good. Then start fine sanding it down and wax the neck. It will also feel better and you can make them look very professionally done in about an hour.
I've thought about giving that a try....I have nothing to lose at this point....we'll see!
Ive been playing 39 years now. I own 6 guitars at this time and 1 Bass. On the average to play rock, metal and blues, I can do that on 3 guitars. EP Les Paul Custom - HH, Jackson DK3M - HSS, Kramer Striker Custom - HSS. I own 2 amps and TONEX with about 50 pedals I own and barely use but 20 of them. I can play 99% of everything out there with this. I run my TONEX as its the amp in a pedal chain to the effects loop of my Marshall DSL100HR amp and to the 2X12 Cab with a V30 and Creamback H in it. I can find nearly every tone I need to cover anyone from Def Leppard, Journey, Queensryche to others like Alice in Chains, Dokken, Ozzy, or StainD and countless other bands. A lot of people also don't little tricks like using a preamp in your effect loop that can really bring out your amps beauty in tone. But believe it or not. I put my Kramer Striker as my number 1 guitar after I upgraded it. It still has its original pickups that somehow blows away my more expensive guitars that go from rock n roll, metal, to beautiful blues! HSS guitars to me have always been more versitle in what they can do.
Sounds like you've got a great setup there....
I have the same Phoenix (Korean made). I fell in love with the guitar at NAMM 2020 and ended up ordering one, great guitar. My number one though is a Fender Esquire w/a Seymour Duncan Lil 59 humbucker. I play a lot of country rock and this guitar works great for that.
Nice! It's a really useful guitar. Nice number one...sounds sweet!
I have a chance to buy an old stock for a real good price but the neck just jettisons out like I'm playing a short scale bass.
It can have that feel at first...I got used to it....
@@LonelyRocker Why was my comment deleted? I hate RUclips.
No idea..wasn't me....
My #1 is my Evh Wolfgang Special in stealth black. It’s super versatile, reliable, and super stable with the d tuna🤘🏾
Sweet!!! Nice guitar...I'd like to give that one a spin!
❤❤❤
I am working in studio most of the time. My collection is practical 1. Strat: a Strat ultra luxe 2. Tele: love the Jason Isbel signature 3. Les Paul: the epiphone 1959 is pretty amazing if you don’t have to play it in public :) 4. 335: the most versatile 5. P90 guitar: still contemplating that. Les Paul Junior? 6. Music Man Ernie Ball bass 7. Taylor 524 ce acoustic . Nice compression for recording 8. Taylor 724 koa- a bit brighter and works for n combination with others well. This is for recording purposes and versatility
Sweet! thanks for sharing. You certainly got the full range covered there!

Line 6 should release the "POD Classic". Make it looks identical to the 2.0, but with these additions - USB 3 - Custom IR Loader - Custom VST loader (use your own sims) - Replace the gain boost with a proper built in overdrive pedal (Tap for Gain, Drive, Tone) - Six band Post EQ with HP LP and Q control - Keep all the original 2.0 Amps and Cabs - That's where the classic tones are. By all means they should use modern DSPs to run it, but the nostalgia alone for the 2.0 along with all these new features would make me buy a full price unit.
That would be an interesting product....
Schecter is killing it lately, but I'm a PRS man lol
We all have our favs!
@@LonelyRocker yep... But PRS is the best lol
Check out the actual timing of the hand movement change in Limelight. Alex shifts the chord from the E position to the F# position BEFORE playing the A# during the E bar. This is what makes it sound so fluent, and though it’s weird to get your head around first, it actually makes it easier to play.
I'll have to look closer at that...nuance is everything!!!!
@@LonelyRocker I'd been playing it like you for years, finding out was a game-changer!
I got this for my son and it kicks total butt. Especially since he is into drop D and such. I got it to make up for the 1976 Firebird I let get away.
It's a surprisingly great guitar. I really love it....I'm sure he's super happy!
Nice to not have to suffer through endless djent noise to learn about a noise gate, for once. Apologies to anyone who likes that stuff.
Haha!!! But well said!!! I felt I had a duty to buck noise gate trends!
Great video ! Thanks !
Thank you too!
Dude, don't tell us what you're going to show us, get to the point and show us.
The headstock inlay is mother of pearl. I bought their Revenge, and it's just regular mop. It doesn't have all the colors in it.
I think that with the 3.5 update, that allowed to adjust the mic positioning and angle, Line 6 gave us the tool that was missing to get the tone we want. Since then I don't feel the urge of looking for another device like FM9, or QC.
That was definitely a significant update.
Alex is an experimental guitarist, he loves to try new things, good or bad he will try it to see if it works. Just listen to his work with Envy of None not your typical guitar sound, but it works. 🎸
Agreed! He has always been about taste and creativity first. That’s been his signature and what separates him from many others.
Did we ever get that 2hr long version?
Ha. I do t think anyone e could take 2 hours of me 😂😂😂
You should be able to control some of the features on your Revv amp and a number of other products via MIDI with instant messages on the Helix.
You know I’ve never tried that. I should!
This is the DAW i have, But ever since i bought a new iMac, running on macOS Sonoma with Protools. Its not working for me nomore
It should. Open a ticket with Icon.
Ya know, you don’t need an effects loop if you have.a stereo pedal ( like a boss DD 7 or stereo reverb ) at the end of your chain. You just plug left to one amp and right to the other from that stereo pedal and you’ve got stereo. The other mono pedals are split into stereo by the end pedal automatically . So, as long as you use overdrive from your pedals and not from your amp, the ambient effects will still sound good as long as they are before the ambient effects.
As memory serves me correctly I mentioned that but I MUCH prefer delay in the loop of an amp because i always use the amp's preamp.
@@LonelyRocker Yes, If I owed 2 beautiful Marshall amps like you have, it would be almost criminal not to use the amps gain. I’m using 2 VOX MP 50 amps, no send/ return. Great little tube amps, but simple, with few extra options. I have 4 of them, including a Marshall type. I’m considering installing a send / return on it, a RUclipsr gives instructions how.
Succinct and clear. No wasted time. Informative and highly useful introduction to a very complex processing suite. Thank you!
My pleasure!
Thanks. Just bought this for $170 on Amazon. Pretty excited to check it out, in a way. Your vid made me feel better about the purchase. And yeah, prob will replace nut and tuners (hopefully the bridge is decent enough). Subscribed. Nice vids.
Thanks! Glad to have you here! Enjoy it. It should be a fun project guitar. Keep an eye on those frets. They may need a little filing after a while. But the guitar is so cheap. I’m sure you’ll have fun with it.
What are you running the modelers into? I know that when I run my Fractal thru my KRKs the sound is completely different than when I run through my Cab or my FRFRs.
I only record in my studio so I monitor everything on my Yamaha HS7 studio monitors.
@@LonelyRocker Got ya!! So everything we hear on your channel is coming through your HS7s?
@prometherion3089 everything I hear. Everything you hear is coming through your speakers 🤣🤣🤣
I have the Qcon Pro G2 and i just purchase a new iMac with the latest macOS but the Qcon Pro G2 is not working. Do you have a link of how i can make it work?
It really should work. Delete all of your connections, make sure the newest firmware is installed and reconnect everything. Good luck!
@@LonelyRocker what you mean by delete all my connections?
@iFamineTV I don’t know what DAW you’re using but delete all of the Mackie connection setups and reconnect from scratch after you update the firmware.
@@LonelyRocker what I have is “Qcon Pro G2”
@iFamineTV your Mackie connections. Just. Reset everything you did to set it up and start from scratch.
How about using an amp modeler pedal as audio interface for amp modeling softwares like Neural Amp Modeler/Amplitube/Neural DSP? I am beginner so I want a plug and play situation through a headphone but I also want to experience different amps and effect sounds/tones. I am on a tight budget so the pedals I can afford are limited on amp and fx models but if I could use them for NAM and Tonocracy so I could explore more amp and effects that would be the dream.
Most modeler pedals I have used that have a usb connection, even budget ones, have worked as an interface. These will get your guitar signal into your computer. The problem is they generally don’t have speaker outputs. But if you’re on headphones that’s not a problem. It will get your guitar into your computer so you can play with all sorts of amp sims. Will totally work on a budget.
@@LonelyRocker Thanks for the quick answer! 👊 Now I can narrow my choices down to just mfx pedals. Thank you and rock on! 🤘❤️
Man...I watched the whole video and you never touched on wether the devices were powered by USB or the 2.1mm (I'm assuming...you didn't cover it) power outputs. What are the power output specs for USB? For the jack connectors? Did the keyboard/interface get hum? Was it USB or DC jack powered? Have you powered non-Icon devices with it?
I can’t get the presets to show in the folder even after a restart. The FAQ on United Plugins website doesn’t really explain how to put them in.
I actually noticed that with one of their other plugins. What DAW are you using?
